It was a sign.  It had to be.  My Dad is moving to VA and he said that I could take his big screen TV.  Since I had just sold my own to a bud, I had been TV'less (and therefore HTPC'less) for a few weeks.  I was initially going to get a 37" Westinghouse monitor, but that cost a cool grand.  Yeah it was 1080p and had more inputs than Paris Hilton but 1k is a lotta money.

I figure, I've saved a ton of money up for the 37", so I want to get something but not that expensive.  I can use what I "save" to be more finacially responcible and pay off some other bills.  I start to look at some monitors.  I see that there are some pretty good prices on 22 inchers out there.  If you go up to 24 inch they go to twice the cost, but 22 inch seems to be where it's at.

I go into Craigslist and hit up the for sell section for the electronics.  Sure enough, the first post I see on the screen is for a 22" monitor.  Wierd.  Then I notice that the person lives in Anahiem.  Shoot, I was going to Anahiem tomorrow to take the kids to Disneyland.  The price was right too, and it was brand new.  How could I pass it up?  With all of the "signs" falling into place I decided to just do it.

The drive was a bit much, and I did keep thinking about my car getting broken into at Disneyland, or something like the monitor being a lemon, and the entire house was just a facade in some scheme to woo dorks into paying money for empty monitor shells.  It worked great though, nice and clean colors, makes my other 3 year old LCD monitors look dirty for some reason.  Oh and Triple-Heads...niiiice.  A remote machine on one monitor, coding display on the other, and alternate between Web and DB on the other.  Or use it to play movies for the kids if they're in the room and you still got the dual monitors.  With that much "real estate" I do do a lot more head turning, and I amped up the mouse to "fastest" to cover the area more easily, but all in all it's a great addition to the family :P
