At the end of our weekly meeting here at work we started to talk about the Christmas party this weekend. I asked, "So can kids come?"
"Nope, just you."
"Wait, just me? What about the wife?"
"She can't come"
I waited for a punchline. None came. I came back to my desk to look at the invitation and it did just say "You are hereby invited to the annual party..." so I guess it doesn't say "You and your significant other" but shit, I just assumed it would. Not sure if I'm going to go. I'm still utterly baffled as to why you wouldn't be able to bring along a friend/spouse to the party. I'm still wondering why the hell no one else would be angry about it either?
