Jackie and I thought it'd be fun to enter myself in the local C/D league at our neighborhood LA Fitness. It'd be a evening out with the Wife, we'd get a workout, and we'd place the kids in the kids club to let them run around and get nice and tired. I usually play Jackie a few times a week left handed so though it'd work out (she hasn't beat me yet!! YEEEAAAHHH).
I get to the club and the league runner rolls her eyes. I could hear her thinking, "Sure this guy thinks he's an open player." She even said, "I hope your opponents don't go on a tear rolling the ball out so you don't get any points!" I assured her, even that would be fine as I was just looking for a sweat, and to achieve the goals listed above.
I got on the court and played the first guy. He got 3 points. I played better than I usually do so played another guy. He got 1. The next two matches my opponents were spotted 7 and 8 points, and I still went all lefty styleese on them.
After I came out she said I needed to move up to the A/B league. Sounds good to me, I'm probably going to get killed but whatever! Going to go next Thursday.
I got to tell you though, I was laughing a lot in my matches. No it wasn't because I was trying to belittle the other player. It's just that left handed I can hit the ball about 20 MPH. I basically poke at the ball in the direction I want it to go and somehow it works (I guess 20MPH is faster than people can run). The reason I win is because I know where to hit it and know where my opponent is going to hit before they even do (I've played this game for sooo long). This lets me basically walk to where their shot is, and poke at it again. Essentially I run the other person around the court with my pokes. Its funny, and so I laugh. Ha ha ha...
