Yeah, well this post isn't going where you expected.  Today Jackie found a "problem" with a website of ours was timing out her login status.  I ramped up my own machine and tried to reproduce it.  The way she was describing the error, it sounded like her browser just wasn't setting a cookie, or her session was screwing up somehow.  As I went through the website on my own, I couldn't reproduce what she had described.

The behavior that did crop up was the login timing out.  Instead of going through her procedure she described, I just want to go in later and change some stuff up.  Sure enough I noticed that my session had timed out, and I instantly knew the answer to the problem.  I had set the timeout value in the forms authentication to 1 for debugging purposes and had forgot to switch it back.

Lesson here is, always try to reproduce the error in different ways.  Don't take what the customer says as what is really going on, go other routes to try and reproduce.
