I just talked with a dude that I just interviewed with a few months ago. A few months ago he was interested. In fact, really interested. Since my current job had an obligation that would cause financial distress if I got out of it, I decided to stay. They came back and offered more money. It was super enticing but couldn't do it, the cost of getting out of my current employment was too much.
Fast forward to today. I contacted him directly and they "have been directed to start using our own global resources to fulfill any further manpower requirements. Functions that used to be handled locally will be outsourced to our Malaysia facility."
While I can agree, I wonder about what impact this would have. In the future, will they outsource his job? I wonder how he would feel about that.
