Had a good day today. Jackie had a tournament that is women only, so instead of us just standing around all day, she went by herself.
I was doing some programming this morning with the kids playing behind me and I thought to myself, "Time to do something else." So I asked Ian what he wanted to do.
"Go to the park"
Ok, after we ate some breakfast we packed up the baseball bat and headed out. We played a little baseball, then played on the baby set, then on the big boy set (yeah I'm a parent) for a good 20 minutes each. Then we went back to baseball, then just pretty much chased kids around for a bit, but then it was time to go eat some lunch.
We ate lunch and Ian still had some vigor. I decided though that we first had to take a nap. Lexi laid down and went to bed without comment right around 12:30. Ian yelled for 5 minutes or so and then went quiet. I checked on him and sure enough he was out.
They both woke up though with tons of energy so I decided to head off to the marina. The marina was another great time (post-sunscreen as Ian once got it in his eyes and throws a bit of a fit about getting screened up) with a bunch of kids having a good time.
There was a party going on and a lot of older kids playing in the water. They came out of the water yelling, and Ian just decided to jump in growling at them and playing some tag as well - he's very socialible, unlike his Dad. He played with some other girls as well.
Lexi got cold so I wrapped her up in a towel and sat her with some grapes. I went back to the water with Ian and she had wrapped the towel around her body and was trying to lean over to eat a grape. Somehow the towel had constrained her hands so she slowly tetered to do a face plant into the ground. Besides being a little funny, she now had a face of dirt so I had to trek her up to the showers to wash off.
We left the marina in pretty good spirits, and headed off to the store after a quick rinse off at home. We got some milk, diapers, and what not and went back home.
Jackie got home an hour later and we went out to eat. Had a great meal and we caught up and gave some hugs and all that. The kids missed her, but we got through it :) She has to play again tomorrow, but we'll probably go with her to root her on. I think she'll only have to play twice so won't be such a long day for the kids.
