We've made a decision to move back.  The more I thought about it, the more I hate the traffic, getting jumped (now we know the guy lives in our area - and there's nothing we can do about that), and the high prices of living.

We are really interested in flip and rental properties.  If we stay out here, that's never going to come to fruition because properties cost waaay to much.  To get into that game it would take some serious cash, something we don't have because of the high cost of living.  Shoot, we RENT for crap's sake a SMALLER home that costs us TWICE and a little more than our MORTGAGE back home.  Does that make sense?  We just dumped 25K into a RENTAL!  Nonwoot.

When we move back we're most likely going to live in my parent's house, which they're not using as they continue their own adventures now in Virginia.  We're going to "rent" the house for 500 a month.  The cost savings there is pretty apparent.  The house is a 3500 sq feet house on 6 acres of forest. Perfect for getting a Labrador that the kids would love, away from all the traffic and noise, and awesome for saving up money to buy our own home in Colorado Springs.

We're already planning on trying to get a house near the Powers area.  It's close to parks, movie theaters, grocery stores, and the racquetball club is up the road.  So it'd almost be like living in California, without the beach.  Again, if I really really think about it, I've gone surfing probably 10 times.  I'm sure I'd have enough vacation time and money saved up to come VACATION out here for 2 weeks to get that out of my system :)

Now the other predicament.  My good friend Bill talked me into interviewing for his company and it turns out they want to fly me out for a face to face.  I couldn't see why they wouldn't like me so I'm guessing that they are probably going to give me an offer.  The biggest benefit I think to working there is that it's pretty independant and you can WORK FROM HOME a few days out of the week.  Having two kids, and potentially having that ability is very very enticing.

On the other hand I always don't want to let anyone down.  I felt pretty bad about turning down the job in Azusa.  They needed help, but 1.5 hour drives back and forth to work plus working in what I thought looked to the closest version of the Oblongs (It's a funny TV cartoon) I've ever seen...ehhh no thanks.  I did feel bad though as they need help, and the lady up there was really trying to help my situation by getting me back on contract.

So, now do I let my own company down again by telling them no thanks (hinging on a potential offer from this other company), but thanks for all the cookies?  The salaries and benefits balance out...so I'm just not sure.  In the end I need to do what's best for my family.  I want to allow Jackie to stay home (and get a degree) until the kids are ready for school (3 more years).

This should all be ironed out by next week.
