There are few places in SoCal where you can do things without millions of other people around you. This past weekend, I thought it'd be fun to go to a park that I had found by looking at the satellite images on local.live.com. In each one of the shots (you can rotate your view) of the area, it looks like the place is deserted. The park's got a nice grassy area, playground, AND is adjacent to the local marina (no wave big ass kiddy pool). If the park had outdoor racquetball courts, we'd be there every evening.
Pretty much a perfect park. It was tucked away, so no one would know about it either...right?
We went twice this weekend, and both days were jam packed with people. On the second day we took 20 minutes to find a parking spot in a RED zone. 10 other cars were in it, so we just took the chance (no ticket came). There were like 100 people alone swimming in the water, and probably 300 more in the entire park. I counted near 20 grills going...
This could be because it was a holiday weekend. We're going to have to go back and see if it's jam packed in the middle of the week. It's getting into the 90's here in some areas!
