1) WPRO rank in top 10. I'd be happy around 12 or 13 though. That would put me in a good position for next season
2) Quarters or better at pro nationals and nationals
3) To win a women's open division at any pro event
4) Gold in 30+ at nationals
5) Focus on consistency, shot selection, and mental focus
6) Have a ton of fun
7) To develop friendships with the women on tour and other players all over the country.
8) To have my own Forum... LOL, I crack myself up
9) To not get unengaged because I play racquetball
10) Be 100% ready to play the full tour next season. This whole season is dedecated to gaining experience and fine tuning my skills with my coach.
I was playing doubles tonight. I was paired with this guy... He played the left, I on the right. I let him play his game and I just took the leftovers. He wasn't playing as well as he usually does. thats besides the point. we got to the service box and he said to me "do a z - serve"... and then he says "can you do that?"... the things that crossed my mind. we finished the game, I went home. now I am all cranky...
Tonight I had a great workout with my coach... Lorraine is awesome! Ok, I know I wasn't in Memphis, I'll live, but now I am getting ready for Virginia, current rank 25. Not bad, I'm going to keep moving up. we'll see what happens at year end. I have six more events that I am playing in. The purpose is to get myself in a good position for next season. Iam looking forward to VA. I took some advice of Kersten, Thanks :) all systems are go :)...I'm thinking quarters in VA!!!
Well, I finally have a few minute s to write a little bit about my weekend playing in the NY Pro Stop. I was far less nervous and far more excited to play thatn a few weeks ago in Maryland. I had the pleasure of playing Kara Mazur in the first round. I did what my coach yells at me for, when I have a huge lead, I tend to "let up" a bit and "conserve" for all the other matches I have yet to play. As a result I lost a game, but I felt I pretty much dominated that match. PLaying Rhonda on my home court was a rush, taking a game from her was even more thrilling!! I don;t think she was expectingme to take a game, but she got into my head and showed why she is number one... Although it did help my confidence and a result of my play, I believe I earned a little bit more repect from the other women. Saturday was fun day!!! I got to play Pro/Open women's doubles, Pro/Open Mixed Doubles, and Open Singles. I lost in a tie breaker to D Davis in open singles in a match that I know I should have one. She played great, and she beat me, but I didn't play her weaknesses and that was my mistake, not going to happen again.Women's doubles was great, won the first round against another junior Sarah H and Laura Brandt, we won the first game 15 -5 and were down in the second 10 - 0 when my partner said to me let's get at least one point, I said to her, We're getting all 15 points. we won the second game 15 - 12. In our second round we played Doreen and Candi, we lost, my partner is a low open level player and they kept feeding her... oh well, what can you do. in mixed we rolled over a local team in the first round and then played Andy H and Diane M... OMG does Andy crush the ball!!! he was too much for my partner and his splats were too good, I needed a shovel to get them, but I left it home that day!!! we lost 8 and 6 I think... I am very upset that I will not be in Memphis next weekend, however I do get to play two local events before Virginia, I am looking forward to it, I met Karen, the TD in Maryland and she was very excited about hosting the ladies. Before the NY event my Pro ranking was T46, I know I earned 22 points from this event, so I am moving on up, hopefully into the top 30. Hopefully I wont drop to far back since I will not be at the US open :( I have to make the money... well good night for now!!!
I am more ready for new york than I was for Maryland. I am less nervous, the fact that I am on my home court helps. I drew Kara Mazur for my first match.. One point, one game, one match at a time. I am looking forward to playing her. It is not in my plam to play pro events to lose in the first round. My goal is nothing short of the top! I'm feeling much more confident, I belong here!!! I am excited. I took a few days off after Maryland, but then hit it hard, worked with my coach and now I will get some more experience!!! I played well tonight, I'll rest tomorrow and hit friday morning at about 10ish, I play at 2:30...
I am also looking forward to mixed pro doubles!
