There was a shootout at the Portola/Lake Forest L.A. Fitness last night. There were about ten of us that showed up so that means two teams of five. Four Games guaranteed.
My first match was against Randy. He doesn't move out of the way. I hit him three times with the ball, and once with my Racquet. We're at game point, the ball is coming off the glass with a nice setup, and I happen to glance and there he is standing there, I swing trying to hit around him (rookie mistake, I should have held up and called the Hinder but after calling so many of those I was beginning to think he doubted his positioning and my calls), and skip it. That was the most irritating. I lost that game 15-13.
My next match is against a guy named Jim. I was told by Ryan (who I'd play next) that I'd have a tough guy against him as the guy loves the cieling ball. Well, its hard to combat me rolling it out on the forehand side with cieling balls.. .oh yeah. I took that one (of course it helped that I was spotted ten, I only had to get five points).
Next was Ryan. Hes a really fun guy to play. He actually encourages you while your playing him, its kind of funny. I'll get into a funk and hear him say "get in there" or whatever else encouraging you could say. He plays in my league so I play him often...or rather once a week usually if we happen to be paired up. I lost. I only got 3 (though final score was 13 still spotted 10).
Then I had to play the coordinator. Dianna. I couldn't get nothing going. I only had to get four points to get to play in the "semi finals" and I couldn't get any. The first guy I played...yeah Randy, the in the way guy...he got to play in the finals...Next time I'm swinging lol.
