Thats all the time I have left to get ready for Thanksgiving, and get everything listed up that we need to remember for Memphis. I reserved our Mini Van today. Its going to be 270, right around there, no biggie though. AND, I'll be able to take new Carseat. We just bought him a the Smack Daddy of all carseats. The Britax Regent. If you any idea about how much knowledge I have gained in car seat safety in the last week your head would spin. And I still have lots to learn.
The car seat was definately on the pricey side. But man when this thing installed I was like, wow that was hella easy (once I got used to the new adjusters and etc), and MAN O MAN, what a super snug instal. No moviement from side to side, a great Tether, and five point harness system. Cant go wrong. Plus, he can use this seat until he is at 80 lbs. The latch system can be used to 65 lbs, BUT our Vehicle Manufacturer (Volkswagon) only allow it to 40. Ian is 36 lbs right now (home scale not Doctor), so he has a few more months in it with the LATCH system, then we'll move him to the long belt path that I hear is even more of a secure fit than the LATCH system.
We decided also to switch Lexi back to rear facing. She BARELY meets the requirements for Foward Facing (20 lbs, and one year old). She's barely 23 lbs. And its suggested to use the rear facing (safer) option until the seats weight limit. So we're going to turn her around. I'm hoping this doesn't create too much drama, because she's been FF for about a year now...How to explain to her that its for her own best interest lol
Things are good. Played in the LA FITNESS classic this last weekend. Played...well decent, but still lost first round. The good news is, Willie was able to Video Tape me. We watched the video and I got lots of good points. I'm thinking of puting it up on you tube or something so that I can get more feedback. I think our basic conclusion is I shufflle too much, and need to run, and my racquet prep though I thought I improved, is horrible lol
I also need to start spending some time on the courts alone, and working on shots. My game is definately a passing game (much like Willies, surprise surprise..), and I'd like to start throwing more shots in there with pinches and splats. I'm only going to learn how to do those by getting on the court alone and trying them out. I also would like to get a better/varried serve into my game. I only know your basic DTL lobe serve, which if I do say so my self, is pretty good lol. I have a decent drive serve but find that when the match is really going I just dont have the energy for it, and would rather just get it in than do the whole two serve thing. I'd like to learn how to z, and possibly drive z.
So...i'm glad he videod...
I'm playing in Memphis. I sort of did something funky with my arm though. like I dislocated it partially or something. its really still sore. I have league to night and am going more for the exercise than the really competing part. Especially since I'm not going to be around for the "finals" night. I'll be in memphis....Oh so looking foward to memphis. I even have *gasp* found a babysitter....
Its someone who I know, not really well, but know of her really well. She posts on our forums, and she helps the Media. She's not a go out and party girl, and she said she could use the extra cash for the upcoming Holidays....I was glad I asked her.
Willie and I get pretty bogged down sometimes. My extreme paranoia (I was sexually abused as a 5 year old by mybabysitter, thats where my paranoia comes from) really inhibits us from ever getting out by ourselves. I really only trust family, and even then, only selected individuals (not because of the abuse thing, but because of maturity and etc). Babysitting is a serious issue with me. Sometimes it gets hard on Willie and I because, we never get to be alone. The only family members that are in close enough range are moving in December, to Virginia and then...well I'm going to have to find someone. We need some time sometimes...
Well gotta go. Gotta go to the Park :)
