Where we used to have at least 3-4 different options, now we have none.
Sparta told Willie we would be moving home, so we gave our 30 day notice at our current house, it rented of course immediately. Two weeks later, they inform us that their budgeting wasn't what they thought it was and we can't come home, so that option went away. They tried to say that "we didn't know Azusa was going so well". That didn't come together on the timeline of things, and Willie was up front with Sparta from the beginning that he had two options available to him.
The second option, Azusa, well, Willie hated it. He doesn't want the commute, the smog, the pollution. He gave his "regret" notice, and they called him to come in Yesterday (monday) to get laid off. While there Willie, trying to be nice, and figure out options told them, "I wouldn't mind Azusa, but if I absolutely hate it, because of my 2 year agreement, I'm stuck for an entire year there, if you could reverse the agreement, I would go to Azusa."...now somewhere in that Sentance the manager came back with "Thats right, well you might owe us that money anyway, because technically theirs work for you and your declining it." In other words, they tried to stick it to him, and didn't hear him coming up with a possible solution.
Willie called me up pretty upset that his own company who he's made already a huge sacrafice to get out to CA already, was now going to try and Black Male (sp??) him into working in a place he didn't want to. I told him no worries, that would never hold up because his original document that he signed stated "we extend the opprotunity for you to work in our Huntington Beach Location" and was null as soon as they wanted him to work elsewhere.
Our third option That Other Company is kind of a mystery. He phone interviewed with quite a few people. They decided to fly him out, get him a hotel, rent him a car, pay for all that, meet with several people during a four hour interview all the while being given vocal indiciations of him being hired such as "you meet all of our qualifications" "we look foward to working with you", and one individual even gave a rounded salary and mentioned relocation, and yet, after al is said and done, they didn't hire him because he "didn't meet the requirements". Really? You said he did, remember, before you flew him out and wasted 8 hours of his day. I dont get it..oh well Maybe he had really bad breath??
So all three options are now out the window. Come September 11th (since I chose the moving date I think I've jinxed us...) We will be homeless. And come September 8th, Willie will be unemployed. Love how all this worked out.
Meanwhile, since yesterday, Willie now has 5 recruitors working for him to get him a job out in CO or in CA. Our roommate/friend is a Recruitor (well not after his promotion but he can still get Willie in there) and so that looks positive too. We also throw this information about our situation to everyone and anyone who might have a lead. But we're coming down to the wire here. Where we thought we had all these options we now have 2.
1. Willie gets a job in CA, we move out of our house, and into a new place.
2. We pack up all of our stuff, move it to Storage (did I not mention that a budget truck to move us out to CA only cost us 400, but to move us from CA to CO costs 4K?????)Until we figured out if we'd be working in Colorado, or California and staying at his parents house in Colorado Springs rent free....
In the meantime, we continue to do all the great things that CA has to offer. We've gone to Disneyland 4 times in the last two weeks. We would have gone every day last week, except thursday is league night, and Wednesday night Willie was supposed to fly out to CO but his flight got cancelled and didn't leave us much time. But thats our goal this week, DISNEY LAND EVERY DAY! By the time we leave CA (if thats where life takes us), we will be absolutely sick of Disney, and will probably never want to go there again lol
Willie has been pretty preoccupied on the phone with all the recruiters calling, so we haven't made it to the Beach. I'm a little bummed about this, but perhaps this weekend, since our chapo disney passes black the weekends out. Better for us anyway, standing in line with Ian and Lexi doesn't make for much fun lol
So thats my update...time to start packing.
